Located along the eastern coast of Johor, Desaru is a laid-back coastal town that's an easy hour's drive from Johor Bahru. The town features a 22 metre long stretch of beach and tranquil fishing villages where you can get amazingly fresh and cheap seafood. There is also the Desaru Coast Water Park that is super popular with families, an ostrich farm that's home to over 100 ostriches, plenty of nature-based activities, as well as some luxurious beachfront resorts that you can escape the city life from.
